I’ve always loved writing, though for much of my adult life it took a back seat to college, career, marriage, and raising children. Like so many people, life moved fast, full of activity, adventure, and joy, with no regrets.

Much of what I write draws from my life before marriage and kids, a childhood shaped by frequent moves, four father figures who each offered different perspectives on life, and an early independence that led me to graduate high school at sixteen and begin college right away. I once dreamed of becoming a pilot. That didn’t happen, though echoes of that dream appear in my debut novel, Time Flies.

Instead, I built a career in criminal justice before transitioning into education, spending years working in foster care and eventually finding my dream role as a school counselor, a position I held for the last decade of my career. Now, as I look toward retirement, writing has once again become a creative outlet and a deeply meaningful part of my life.

Today, I’m a grandmother who loves travel and storytelling, and I’ve remarried (this time to a pilot, go figure). My writing blends aviation realism with speculative elements, weaving together emotional journeys, time, memory, and second chances. Many of my characters are inspired by people in my life, with a touch of embellishment for richness and depth.

My mother, a strong-willed woman who lived to the beat of her own drum, passed away in 2016 from brain cancer. Her spirit continues to influence my work and my outlook on life.

I look forward to more travel, more stories, and continuing to take life by the horns, living fully and creatively each day.
